What is the Triduum and how can we celebrate it with our young children?
The United States Council of Catholic Bishops defines the Triduum (also referred to as The Three Days) as the period of time from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. They are the three holiest days of the holiest week of our liturgical year and contain many beautiful traditions that we only get to experience once a year. Let’s take advantage of all the Church offer us during this time and teach our kids to love it as much as we do.

For over a decade, I have been bringing my young children to Mass, not only on Sundays, but often during the week as well. There are certain developmental stages each of my children has been through. There have also been particular joys and struggles with each child. As challenging as it can be to bring kids to Mass (and to be honest, I’m in a somewhat challenging stage right now!), I am confident of the fruit, both for the children and for the parish community.

However, the beauty of the Catholic faith is knowing, "with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). We don't need to know all the answers, just where to look and Whom to ask.
